MOON-LANDING SPOT IS NOW 'SHIV SHAKTI'
Prime Minister Modi announced that:-
• the point where the Vikram lander of Chandrayaan-3 landed will be called 'Shiv Shakti'.
• The point where Chandrayaan-2 left its footprint will be called 'Tiranga'.
• The day the lander made its historic soft-landing will be commemorated as 'National Space Day'. It will celebrate the spirit of science, technology and innovation.
The ISRO said that two of Chandrayaan-3's objectives had been completed, including demonstration of a safe and soft landing on the lunar surface, and demonstration of the rover rovering on the moon. The third, which is conducting in situ scientific experiments, is under way.
