The International Court Of Justice (ICJ) gave green light to Ukraine's western allies to support it in its legal fight against Russia.
Ukraine had appealed to the ICJ shortly after the Russian invasion.
• The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations.
• The ICJ is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations. Its seat is at the Peace Palace in The Hague (Netherlands).
• ICJ was established in 1945 by the United States Charter and started working in April 1946.
• It settles legal disputes between States and gives advisory opinions in accordance with international law, on legal questions referred to it by authorized United Nations organs and specialized agencies.
