Govt. increases MSP for Kharif
The 2023-24 MSP for 17 kharif crops and variants were approved at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee pf Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister.
This would encourage crop diversification and ensure fair remuneration for the farmers, especially at a time when retail inflation is declining. However, economists suggest that the 5-11% increase in MSP could have an inflationary impact on the Monetary policy.
