NATIONAL CULTURE FUND
The National Culture Fund (NCF) was established as a funding mechanism distinct from the existing sources and patterns of funding for the arts and culture in India. It will enable institutions and individuals to support arts and culture directly as partners with its government.
The National Culture Fund (NCF) was set up by the Government of India as a Trust under the Charitable Endowment Act, 1890. The NCF is managed and administered by a council to decide the policies and an Executive Committee – to actualize those policies. The Council is chaired by the Union Minister of Tourism & Culture and has a maximum strength of 24 including both the Chairman and Member Secretary,
To established and nurture partnership in the field of culture and Heritage with private and public sectors government , non government agencies and mobilize resource for he restoration , conservation ,protection and development of India’s rich ,natural ,tangible and intangible heritage.
This fund mostly use for conservation ,promotion protection and maintenance of monuments ,Research and development in Art and for their relevance in contemporary scenario.
The nature of funding has been made very flexible under NCF.
For instance ,donor while making contributions to NCF may indicate a project along with any specific location /aspect and an agency for execution of the project.
