BSE's first independent women director
Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has appointed its first independent women director Jayshree Vyas. Vyas is a chartered accountant working as the managing director of Shree Mahila Sewa Sahakari Bank, Ahmedabad, since 1986.
Bajrang Punia Wins Gold in Wrestling
Bajrang Punia won the gold medal in the Ali Aliyev wrestling tournament held in Kaspiisk, Russia. The 25-year-old currently holds the no.1 spot in World Wrestling Ranking.
World Press Freedom Day 2019
World Press Freedom Day is observed annually on May 3 to inform the international community that freedom of press and freedom of expression are fundamental human rights. The main celebration this year took place in Addis Ababa, from 1 to 3 May.
Chandrayaan-2 modules to be launched in July
All modules of India's 2nd moon mission 'Chandrayaan-2', are scheduled for launch in July 2019. They are getting ready and lander is expected to touch down on the lunar surface in early September 2019. The 3 modules a- Orbiter, Lander(Vikram) and Rover(Pragyan) of Chandrayaan-2 are ready for July launch.
Apurvi attained world number spot
Indian shooting ace Apurvi Chandela attained the world number one position in the women's 10 meters air rifle event. Anjum Moudgil rose to number 2 after consistent performances in recent years.
